Over 100 years ago, in the early 1900’s, Mr. Charles F. Shields settled on this land with his family. The original Shields’ farm ran from Highway 66 to Union Cross Roads, hence Shields Road bisecting the property. Several generations of the Shields family lived and worked in Kernersville. The Tredegar subdivision land was sold by the family for development in the late 1990’s.
